What does acupuncture feel like?

Treatment involves the insertion of flexible hair-thin needles at specific points along the body’s meridian channels. It’s a safe, effective way to promote the body’s amazing self healing abilities. As required by law, I use pre-sterilized, disposable single use needles to ensure your complete safety. I choose to use premium quality Seirin needles for the gentlest experience possible. Most clients find treatments very relaxing both mentally and physically and often fall asleep.

What’s the first session like?

During our first session together we will discuss your medical history, lifestyle habits, and specific health and wellness goals. This visit includes your comprehensive health assessment, tongue and pulse diagnosis and an introductory treatment to address your current concerns. The initial consultation lasts about an hour and a half and follow up sessions are generally an hour. Please wear loose comfortable clothing.

How many treatments will I need?

The benefits of acupuncture are cumulative. The length and frequency of visits vary for each individual depending on the type, severity and duration of the condition.

Like any modality or medical treatment acupuncture doesn’t come with a guarantee yet most clients experience relief. The best results are achieved with regular scheduled visits and therefore yield an optimal outcome. Acupuncture is a transformative process and not a quick fix as we work together to discover and address the root cause of the body’s imbalance. Once the body is balanced most clients choose to continue with a maintenance plan for prevention, stress management and general well being tune ups.

*Please call or email ahead to schedule your session as treatments are by appointment only.

How long does it take to get an appointment?

Due to the boutique nature of my practice, I only treat a limited number of clients in a month. While I try to work in as many new clients as I can, I do generally have a waiting list for new clients.

Do you take insurance?

I’m a private pay boutique practice and don’t handle any insurance claims or have involvement in any discount groups.

The goal of my acupuncture practice is to provide the highest quality care for my clients. I prefer not to have restrictions on the type of treatments I can offer or the amount of time I can spend with each person.
